Details become the centrepiece of the artist’s intentional use of planes which are almost two dimensional. Every bouquet and each individual bowl is painstakingly rendered to best capture her rich ancestral past.

The one difference is that the purely decorative relevance of the work has now been replaced by the significant ritual that dictates the artist’s cultural heritage. The luscious use of colour, texture and always detail is the only thing the work now hinges on.
